OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Cody Rogers, R-Tulsa, received approval from the Senate Appropriations Committee Wednesday for Senate Bill 1391. The measure designates funds to the Oklahoma Water Resources Board for improvements to levees along the Arkansas River.

Meagan Burke, an Oklahoma City police officer killed in an on-duty, head-on crash with an impaired driver on I-44 on Sept. 29, 2022. Senate Bill 1584, naming a bridge in Burke’s memory, was approved by the Senate Aeronautics and Transportation Committee on Tuesday.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. David Bullard, R-Durant, released the following statement after the Senate approved eliminating the state portion of the grocery tax Thursday.

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Thursday, the Senate voted to eliminate the 4.5 percent state sales tax on groceries.  The bill had already passed the House.  It now heads to the Governor’s desk.
