Monday, March 20

Monday, March 13

• The Senate focused on floor work this week in order to hear as many bills as possible before the Legislature’s March 16 deadline for 3rd Reading of bills in the House of Origin. The Senate adjourned for the week on Wednesday, having completed its work on Senate bills a day early. So far, the Senate has passed 534 Senate bills, 13 joint resolutions, 12 senate resolutions, eight concurrent resolutions and three house bills. Monday, March 6

• The Senate focused on floor work this week as the March 16 deadline for 3rd Reading of bills in the House of Origin approaches. Measures approved on the Senate Floor on Monday include:

-SJR 58, by Sen. Kenneth Corn, calls for a statewide vote on a constitutional amendment to create the Oklahoma Safe Roads Trust Fund and require that the motor fuel taxes deposited in the fund be used for transportation projects.

Monday, February 27

• Measures approved Monday on the Senate Floor included:

-FS SB 1288, by Sen. Johnnie Crutchfield, would provide $100 million to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to fix the state’s worst bridges and $25 million to fix county bridges. The measure would be funded with $92.8 million from the Dynamic Economy and Budget Stabilization Fund created last year, $7.2 million from the Special Cash Fund and $25 million from anticipated surplus.

Monday, February 20

• Due to snow and sleet that moved through the state over the weekend, both the Senate and the House cancelled all scheduled meetings and closed their offices on Monday. The Senate announced it would vote later in the week to suspend the rules which would allow for additional time to hear bills still in committee.
