• The Senate met briefly Monday and adopted a single resolution, SR 48, by Sen. A J Griffin, congratulating the 2016 Class B Girls Basketball State Champions, the Lomega Lady Raiders.

• The Senate Pensions Committee approved five bills Monday with no debate.

Monday, March 14, 2016

• The Senate met briefly Monday and took up no business. This week is spring break for most Oklahoma public and private schools, as well as colleges and universities.

• The House took up no bills during a brief meeting Monday. The House also requested the consent of the Senate to adjourn for more than three consecutive days starting Thursday.

• The Senate approved 37 bills on Monday as it worked toward this week’s deadline for bills to be heard in their chamber of origin, including the following:

-SJR 72, by Sen. Rob Standridge and Rep. John Jordan, proposes a vote of the people to repeal Article 2, Section 5 of the Oklahoma Constitution, which prohibits the use of public monies or property for sectarian or religious purposes. The resolution passed 39 to 5.
