• The Senate Health and Human Services Committee met Monday afternoon and approved the following bills:
read more.• On Monday, the Senate adopted the Joint Rules for the 56th Legislature during its floor session clearing the way for House consideration. Also approved during Monday’s session were the following:
read more.• The full Senate met briefly Monday afternoon and adopted its first resolution of the session, but heard no other legislation.
• The Senate General Government Committee advanced several bills on Monday including the following:
-SB 403, by Sen. David Holt, modifies the methods by which public bodies must display notices for regularly scheduled meetings. It exempts weekends and holidays and defines terms.
read more.• The Senate held its second floor session of the 56th Legislature Monday before joining the House in joint session as to hear Gov. Mary Fallin's seventh State of the State address. The Senate welcomed 12 new members, marking one of the largest freshman classes in the upper chamber's history. There are 42 Republicans to the 6 Democrats, also representing an all-time high in the Senate.
