• The Senate convened to consider two resolutions and then adjourned to committee meetings. The deadline to report from committee of the opposite house is Thursday, April 7th.

-SR 13 by Sen. Daisy Lawler declares March 30, 2005 as “Ag Day,” memorializing Oklahoma citizens to recognize the importance of agriculture. The resolution was adopted.

Monday, March 14

• The Senate convened to consider several pieces of legislation, including the following:

-FS for SB 217 by Sen. Johnnie Crutchfield, Sen. Mike Morgan, Rep. Chris Benge and Rep. Jim Newport appropriates to the Department of Education, beating the March 16th deadline to fund education first. The bill and emergency passed 43-0.

• The Senate convened and approved 170 appropriations bills on Monday. They also considered several pieces of legislation, including the following:

-SB 799 by Sen. Clark Jolley and Rep. Thad Balkman would raise the fine paid by those convicted of child restraint violations from $10 to $50. The bill and emergency passed
45-0.
