Monday, March 9

• With the March 12 deadline for measures on third reading from the house of origin quickly approaching, the full Senate began the week with 233 measures on general order. On Monday, the Senate considered approximately 40 measures. Among those winning full Senate approval:

-SB 35, by Sen. AJ Griffin, would permit the Department of Public Safety to offer online applications for state identifications cards and allow electronic signatures for the applications. The bill passed 41-0.

• The full Senate met on Monday and approved these bills.

-SB 50, with title restored, by Sen. Jason Smalley, lowers the grade level at which agricultural education may be offered from eighth grade to sixth grade. The bill and its emergency clause passed 44 to 0.

Monday, February 23

• The full Senate met on Monday and approved these bills.

-SB 820 by Sen. Clark Jolley and Sen. Greg Treat re-appropriates $2,856,257.00 of the original appropriation of $5 million, appropriated to the Office of the Attorney General from the Special Cash Fund in 2012 for the original purpose of prosecuting and defending of claims related to water and water rights in Oklahoma.

• The full Senate met on Monday and approved three bills.

-SB 144 by Sen. David Holt, R- Oklahoma City, creates the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority License Plate.

-SB 71, by Sen. Mark Allen, R-Spiro, adds chicken egg production to the definition of basic industry in the Quality Jobs program.

-SB 147 by Sen. Frank Simpson, R-Ardmore, modifies the use of funds in the Patriot License Plate Revolving Fund.

Monday, Feb. 9, 2015

• The Senate conducted no legislative business Monday but recognized the families of Oklahoma Gold Star Medal recipients. The medal is awarded to soldiers posthumously for valor after Sept. 11, 2011, and presented to their families. Recognized Monday were the families of Specialist Buddy Hughie, Staff Sergeant Kirk Owen, Sergeant Anthony Peterson, Specialist Joshua Seals, Specialist Christopher Gailey, Sergeant Mycal Prince, Corporal Michael Thompson, Sergeant Daniel Eshbaugh, First Lieutenant Damon Leehan, and Sergeant Bret Isenhower.

• The Oklahoma Senate convened briefly Monday at noon and then joined the members of the House of Representatives for a joint session in the House for Gov. Mary Fallin’s State of the State address.
