Brian Guthrie was born and raised in Bixby and has worked in the community since his early teen years. After graduating from Bixby High School in 1997 and earning a Business degree in 2001, he took a leap into entrepreneurship by founding a construction company. Over the course of six years, he grew the business, created numerous well-paying jobs, and later sold it to pursue a full-time career in real estate.
Brian and his wife of 22 years, Wendi Guthrie, co-founded Guthrie Realty in 2016, a real estate brokerage firm they continue to own and operate. Over the years, they’ve built a portfolio of rental properties and earned recognition as award-winning specialists in residential, commercial, new construction, and vacant land real estate throughout Northeastern Oklahoma.
Brian and Wendi have two children together, John and Abby. John is a senior at Bixby High School and Abby is a pre-law student at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
In 2011, Guthrie was appointed to a vacant seat on the Bixby City Council and was elected to three consecutive Council terms. Within a few years, his peers on the Council elected him to Mayor, a position he held from 2019-2024. Throughout his 13 years of volunteer service on the City Council, Guthrie championed efforts to expand the local economy, improve city infrastructure, and invest in the Bixby fire and police departments.
