Economic Development, Workforce and Tourism

The Economic Development, Workforce & Tourism Committee is tasked with the development of regulatory policy for job creation, retention, and creating an atmosphere where business can thrive. This will include affordable housing, identifying business opportunities, small business loans and grants, and increase and provide processes to encourage and improve current and new activity in in job development and retention.  Creation of job opportunities are bolstered by a thriving tourism department that oversees the operation and maintenance of the state lodges and golf course, promotion of tourism by publicity and dissemination of information and assistance in the promotion by municipalities, associations and organizations commemorating special events of local or historical interest, and to educate the public on the people, places, events, culture and history of Oklahoma.  The Department of Economic Development, Workforce and Tourism is often working with the following agencies, Oklahoma Employment and Security Commission, Oklahoma Center for Advancement of Science and Technology, Department of Labor, Department of Commerce, and Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Wildlife.
