Business and Insurance

The Senate Business and Insurance Committee primarily handles legislative issues relating to occupational licensing, business and industry operating standards, alcohol licensing and regulation, and labor and employment practices.  The committee also handles legislative issues relating to the regulation of private insurance in the state.  This covers issues such as mandated health insurance coverage, life insurance, service warranties, reinsurance and unfair claims settlement practices.  Agencies involved with this committee include the Department of Labor, Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement Commission (ABLE), , Construction Industries Board, and the Oklahoma Insurance Department.
