Standridge secures committee passage of property rights bill

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Lisa Standridge, R-Norman, successfully secured unanimous committee passage of legislation that reinforces property owners' control over their land, even in cases involving easements.

This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed House Bill 1060, which allows property owners to relocate an easement on their grounds at their own expense by pursuing civil action. HB 1060 does not apply to utility easements.

Senate passes Standridge bill to create ‘buffer zones’ to prohibit new homeless shelters near schools

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Senate on Tuesday advanced legislation from Sen. Lisa Standridge, R-Norman, to prohibit new homeless shelters from being located within 3,000 feet of any school.
