OKLAHOMA CITY – Legislative leaders on Thursday filed an action with the Oklahoma Supreme Court in response to a recent federal court motion by Gov. Kevin Stitt that poses significant risk to states’ rights and the Oklahoma Constitution’s separation of powers.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill Thursday to protect election integrity in the absentee ballot process and now the bill heads to the governor’s desk for consideration.

Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, is the author of the bill, which protects the integrity of the absentee ballot process while granting exemptions during the course of the coronavirus health pandemic. The bill passed 38-9.

“The bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City changed our state and nation forever. We will always remember the 168 lives lost and honor the survivors from that terrible day 25 years ago. Out of that tragedy, though, the world learned of the Oklahoma Standard. It was our faith, our resilience and our willingness to lift each other up that helped us overcome and rebuild after the bombing."
