OKLAHOMA CITY – Because Oklahoma public schools are supported by taxpayer dollars, Sen. George Burns wants to ensure classes for history, government, social studies, and other similar subjects are not politicized.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. George Burns has filed Senate Bill 1167, the “Every Mother Matters Act,” also known as EMMA.

State Sen. George Burns, R-Pollard, has filed Senate Bill 1101 for consideration during the upcoming legislative session, which would remove the growing, harvesting and processing of marijuana from the list of agricultural products available to receive a sales tax exemption.

The full Senate gave approval to Senate Bill 312 on Monday, which would create harsher penalties for those who steal the identity of a person under the age of 18. The measure is authored by Sen. George Burns, R-Pollard.

The Senate has approved a measure that would grant a sales tax exemption for the purchase of some forestry equipment.
