OKLAHOMA CITY – Last week, the Oklahoma State Work Permits and Visas Task Force published their report, making several recommendations to the legislature for immigration-related bills. Sen. Dusty Deevers, R-Elgin, spoke forthrightly against the recommendations and encouraged his fellow legislators to do likewise.

Notably, the opposition to abortion and support for a Christian definition of marriage present in previous platforms were removed. Senator Dusty Deevers, R-Elgin, issued the following statement condemning the committee and calling on RNC delegates to amend the committee’s recommendations at the convention next week.

“The Bible’s status as the most important book ever written is not in dispute. Including it in public school curriculum is not a scandal: excluding it is. It is difficult, if not impossible, to provide students a proper understanding of Western civilization, world history, and U.S. history without significant emphasis on the Bible.
