OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Senate has passed a comprehensive measure by Senator Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, aimed at strengthening penalties for impaired drivers and enhancing efforts to prevent repeat DUI offenses.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, secured the Senate’s approval for Senate Bill 657 Wednesday. The measure authorizes an officer whose use of deadly force is found during any pretrial hearing or proceeding to be unjustified to appeal such ruling to the Court of Criminal Appeals within 10 days.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Senate on Monday unanimously approved Senate Bill 595, authored by Senator Darrell Weaver, R-Moore. The legislation creates the Oklahoma Jail Standards Act and establishes comprehensive standards for the operation of detention and lockup facilities in Oklahoma.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, received the Senate’s approval for Senate Bill 633 Thursday. The measure authorizes public school superintendents, or a designated district employee, to access data through the Juvenile Online Tracking System (JOLTS), an online record keeping system operated by the Office of Juvenile Affairs.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, received the Senate’s approval for Senate Bill 523 Monday. The measure provides that any Oklahoma sheriff, deputy sheriff, or reserve deputy sheriff shall have the same powers and duties as though employed by the sheriff’s office for which he or she is performing duties outside of his or her county of employment.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved Senate Bill 79 Wednesday. The measure by Sen. Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, creates the Uniform Child Abduction Prevention Act, which authorizes a court to order abduction prevention measures in a child custody proceeding if the court finds that the evidence establishes a credible risk of abduction of the child.

House Bill 3571 allows businesses to use their discretion on whether or not to check IDs, ensuring older Oklahomans are not inconvenienced.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate General Government Committee approved House Bill 3623 Thursday. Sen. Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, is the Senate author of the measure that ensures state dollars are not used to employ undocumented immigrants. HB 3623 requires businesses contracting with the state to sign an affidavit stating they are in compliance with the state’s electronic verification laws.
