OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, today released the Senate’s plan for more budget transparency and an estimated timeline for the Senate’s new budget proposal.

The Senate appropriations subcommittee members will begin analyzing agency budgets and program performance measures beginning tomorrow in open meetings. This process will go through the end of January. All meetings will be open and livestreamed on the Senate website.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, today expressed frustration after the Oklahoma Tax Commission delayed the application start date for the Parental Choice Tax Credit.  

The application start has been moved from today, Friday, Dec. 1 to Wednesday, Dec. 6.

2023 - OVERVIEW OF 2023 SESSION

The Oklahoma State Senate convened the 1st Session of the 59th Legislature on January 3, 2023, to swear in the newly elected Senators Alvord, Gollihare, Green, Prieto, Seifried, Stewart, K. Thompson, and Woods as well as reelect Senator Treat as the President Pro Tempore for the 5th consecutive term. Additionally, members voted on committee membership and elected Senate leadership.

2022 - OVERVIEW OF 2022 SESSION

The Oklahoma State Senate convened the 2nd Session of the 58th Legislature on February 7, 2022, to consider how to spend monies from the American Relief Plan, tighten regulations on medical marijuana, expand rural broadband, and promote economic development. Additionally, following revenue certification in February, the Senate continued to advocate for measured economic relief.
