OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, today released the following statement and highlights on the conclusion of the 59^th Oklahoma Legislature’s regular session.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Democrats shared their views on the 2024 session as lawmakers worked toward final adjournment on Thursday.

OKLAHOMA CITY- On Thursday, Sen. Micheal Bergstrom, R-Adair, presented Senate Bill 426 on the Senate floor on behalf of its author, Senator George Burns, R-Pollard. The bill to safeguard the liberties and rights of Oklahomans successfully passed through the Senate.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Blake Cowboy Stephens, R-Tahlequah, released the following statement after the Senate approved House Bill 2914 Thursday. Stephens co-authored the bill that appropriates $18 million for the creation of the Oklahoma Sheriff's Office Funding Assistance Grant Program.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Senate on Thursday approved legislation that is the culmination of years of work to rewrite Oklahoma’s criminal code.

After three years of studying the state’s criminal code and several more years working on legislation to bring greater consistency and uniformity to criminal sentencing, the Senate gave final passage to a one-of-a-kind measure to overhaul felony sentencing in Oklahoma.

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Wednesday, the Senate passed Senate Bill 1273, by Sen. Jerry Alvord, R-Ardmore, off the floor. The measure seeks to investigate and improve the water quality of the Blue River and Little Blue Creek.

OKLAHOMA CITY – On Tuesday, Senate Bill 1429, authored by Sen. John Haste, R-Broken Arrow, was signed into law.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate overrode the governor’s veto of Senate Bill 922 Wednesday. The legislation, authored by Sen. Blake Cowboy Stephens, R-Tahlequah, provides that at least 90 percent of hunting tags be issued to Oklahomans for hunting seasons with a limited number of tags available.
