OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Paul Scott, R-Duncan, received top marks from the Research Institute for Economic Development (RIED) for his support of pro-business legislation during the 2020 legislative session.

State Sen. Micheal Bergstrom, R-Adair, received a perfect rating from the Research Institute for Economic Development (RIED).

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Ron Sharp, R-Shawnee, secured his fourth perfect pro-business score from the Research Institute for Economic Development (RIED) based on his votes in the 2020 legislative session.  Given his eight-year tenure, he holds the highest cumulative REID score, a 96, in the Oklahoma Legislature.

When you look at Oklahoma’s budget, it’s a little over $7.8 billion.  While many people are probably aware the lion’s share of that goes to education, they may not realize that health care is the second highest expense.  It makes up 31 percent of the total budget—some $2.3 billion in fiscal year 2021.
