Senator Chris Kidd from Waurika is a 5th generation Oklahoman. He is the son of a rancher and a schoolteacher. A graduate of Waurika High School, Kidd received an associate degree in Agricultural Science from Murray State College, and then went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Kidd is also a graduate of the 2014 Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Program and Leadership Oklahoma’s Entrepreneurial program.
Senator Kidd was elected to the Oklahoma State Senate in November of 2016 to serve District 31, which encompasses Jefferson, Stephens, Comanche, Cotton, and Love counties. In 2022, Kidd was appointed Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.
Prior to being elected to the Senate, Kidd worked for the Chickasaw Nation, serving on the economic development team, BancFirst, as a branch manager, and was the Agricultural Education Instructor and FFA Advisor at Waurika High School. Kidd subsequently held several posts at the Oklahoma Farm Bureau where he served as a Field Representative, Director of State and National Affairs, and Vice President of Membership.
Senator Kidd and his wife, Lindsey, have three beautiful girls. In addition to being a father of three, and his work for the State Senate, Kidd and his father operate a cattle ranch in southern Oklahoma. He also serves on his local Volunteer Fire department and is a member of Addington First Baptist Church.
