OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Appropriations Chairman Chuck Hall, R-Perry, today released the following statement after the federal government canceled plans for a 645-mile federal transmission corridor that would have run through northern Oklahoma.

Plans for the corridor that would have crossed from Oklahoma’s Panhandle to the state’s border with Arkansas showed the transmission project could go through Kingfisher, Logan and Payne counties, which make up part of Hall’s Senate district.

Morrison Elementary was one of four Oklahoma schools to earn the top national honor awarded to campuses that excel in academic achievement. The U.S. Department of Education announced Monday that just 356 schools across the U.S. received the Blue Ribbon designation this year.
