OKLAHOMA CITY – The governor has given final approval to Senate Bill 736, which will allow county health departments across the state to share resources in an effort to improve public health in Oklahoma.

Authored by Sen. Chris Kidd, R-Waurika, the measure allows county health departments to form “health districts,” comprised of multiple member counties, with the goal to pool resources to enhance health outcomes for the member counties.

OKLAHOMA CITY –The pay of school support staff will be protected during future epidemics and state emergencies thanks to legislation signed into law Tuesday. Senate Bill 807, by Sen. Chris Kidd, R-Waurika, will ensure support staff have the same pay protections during such events as teachers and administrators.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Senate and House approved a resolution Monday recognizing one of Oklahoma’s top crops, cotton, and the dedicated Oklahoma producers who help provide it to the world market. Senate Concurrent Resolution 7, by Sen. Chris Kidd, R-Waurika, and Rep. Trey Caldwell, R-Lawton, designates cotton as the official fiber of Oklahoma and make it an official state symbol.
