OKLAHOMA CITY – The State Senate has confirmed the executive nomination of Lisa Storm of Kingfisher to serve on the State Textbook Committee, according to State Senator Darcy Jech.
Storm, a National Board certified teacher, has been teaching for seventeen years and is currently a 3rd grade teacher in Kingfisher Public Schools. She also serves as a curriculum writer for Ag in the Classroom and is a certified instructor for Great Expectations teacher training seminars.
“I am pleased with the experience Ms. Storm brings to this position,” said Sen. Jech, R-Kingfisher. “I am confident she will bring extensive knowledge and real-life experience to the State Textbook Committee.”
Storm holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science degree from University of Central Oklahoma. She and her husband, John, have two children, Meredith and Nick.
Created in 1946, the state textbook committee conducts a process for the approval of textbooks and technology-based materials which local school districts, upon recommendation of local committees, may purchase with state-provided funds.
Storm’s term will expire March 1, 2017.
