OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Blake Stephens, R-Tahlequah, will be hosting a blood drive on Feb. 9 with the Oklahoma Blood Institute. Stephens encourages the public and everyone at the Capitol to participate.
“I am looking forward to this friendly competition and making an impact through this event,” Stephens said. “I encourage everyone who is able to join us in donating blood - you could help save someone's life.”
The blood drive is being called “Legislators for Life: Battle of the Chambers.” The Senate and House of Representatives will go head-to-head and the chamber with the most donors per capita will take home bragging rights, along with a traveling trophy and plaque.
The drive will take place at the state Capitol, from 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the second-floor rotunda. Donors will have their choice of an OU or OSU shirt with a custom state seal logo on the sleeve.
