Statement from Edmond legislators praising Edmond teachers, students, community

Oklahoma City – Three legislators from Edmond are thanking their local education community.  State Senator Adam Pugh, State Representative Ryan Martinez and State Representative Mike Osburn have released the following statement after meeting with thousands of educators and constituents:

“We are incredibly proud of our local teachers and the way they represented Edmond and our community over the past few weeks.  The sense of enthusiasm, commitment and concern for their students is inspiring.  We’ve had the opportunity to visit with thousands of educators, students, administrators and parents and are honored to partner with them to prioritize public education in Oklahoma.

We hope these past few weeks represent only the beginning of the conversation, and not the end.  We have heard your stories and your voices and will continue to keep the energy and momentum as we seek ways to strengthen funding for public education in Oklahoma, not only this year, but for many years to come.

Moving forward, we will continue visiting your classrooms and building on the relationships we’ve fostered during our time in office.  Working together as parents, teachers and community members, we will keep prioritizing what makes Edmond great.  By putting our students’ education first, we can build a better and brighter future for Oklahoma.”
