Southwest Oklahoma delegation mourns loss of Comanche County firefighter, commends bravery of first responders

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate and House members representing southwestern Oklahoma released the following statement, mourning the death of Edgewater Park Firefighter April Partridge on Sunday and commending the hundreds of firefighters in the region who have responded to wildfires in recent days. The delegation includes Sen. Chris Kidd, R-Waurika; Sen. John Michael Montgomery, R-Lawton; Sen. Brent Howard, R-Altus; Sen. Jessica Garvin, R-Duncan; Rep. Rande Worthen, R-Lawton; Rep. Daniel Pae, R-Lawton; Rep. Trey Caldwell, R-Lawton; Rep. Toni Hasenbeck, R-Elgin; and Rep. Gerrid Kendrix, R-Altus.

“Our hearts go out to the family of firefighter April Partridge, who tragically lost her life battling a large wildfire this weekend. She was a true hero who selflessly fought to protect the lives and property of others. Her bravery and dedication will never be forgotten.  We ask our fellow Oklahomans to please join us in praying for her family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

“As wildfires continue to rage in our state, we commend all of our firefighters and first responders and thank them for their courageous service.”
