Newly elected and re-elected members of the Oklahoma State Senate took the oath of office on Tuesday in the Senate chamber. The oath was administered by the Honorable James Winchester, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Newly elected members sworn in were Jerry Ellis. D-Valliant; Jim Halligan, R-Stillwater; Bryce Marlatt, R-Woodward; Gary Stanislawski, R-Tulsa; Dan Newberry, R-Tulsa; and Steve Russell, R-Oklahoma City.
Returning members taking the oath of office included Charles Wyrick, D-Fairland; Jim Wilson, D-Tahlequah; Richard Lerblance, D-Hartshorne; Earl Garrison, D-Muskogee; Judy Eason McIntyre, D-Tulsa; Susan Paddack, D-Ada; Jonathan Nichols, R-Norman; Charlie Laster, D-Shawnee; Patrick Anderson, R-Enid; Ron Justice, R-Chickasha; Mike Mazzei, R-Tulsa; John Ford, R-Bartlesville; Don Barrington, R-Lawton; Tom Adelson, D-Tulsa; Brian Crain, R-Tulsa; Clark Jolley, R-Edmond; and Todd Lamb, R-Edmond.
Sen. Jim Reynolds participated in the ceremony, but will be officially sworn in Wednesday following the State Election Board’s final certification of the results of the District 43 election on Tuesday afternoon.
The full Senate will return for an organizational day on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, with the First Session of the 52nd Legislature formally convening on Monday, February 2.
