OKLAHOMA CITY — Sen. Jonathan Wingard, R-Ada, released the following statement after an EF-1 tornado hit Ada this week, causing damage and displacing some residents.
“The tornado that ripped through Ada upended the lives of countless people in our community,” Wingard said. “My heart goes out to the residents who were injured during the storm, as well as those whose homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed. I’m deeply grateful for the emergency crews, first responders, city officials, local public servants and others who immediately stepped forward to help. Their unwavering commitment to this city and its residents has been truly inspiring.
“I am also amazed by how the Ada community has united to support its own. The Oklahoma Standard and the true spirit of Ada are shining through as neighbors come together, offering help and support in every way possible. Sadly, Ada is all too familiar with the devastation left in the wake of tornadoes. However, the resilience of this community is unmatched, and I have no doubt that we will recover and rebuild stronger than ever. As cleanup efforts continue, I want my constituents to know that I am here to support them in any way possible. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance.”
