Senator Stanley Visits Lawton-Ft. Sill Veterans Center

OKLAHOMA CITY— Senator Brenda Stanley, R-Midwest City, recently visited the Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Center. During her visit, she toured the facility, met with staff, and spoke with several veteran residents.

“As Chair of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, one of my top priorities is ensuring that we are serving Oklahoma’s veterans to the best of our ability,” Stanley said. “The Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Center has made significant strides in enhancing daily care for its residents, and I am committed to supporting continued advancements at veterans’ facilities across our state, ensuring all veterans have access to this level of care.”

Stanley and Sen. Julia Kirt were prompted to visit the facility to see how they are enhancing care, including the implementation of full-time nursing staff and maintaining ODVA’s staff-to-patient ratio, which exceeds standard requirements.

“This facility exemplifies the progress we’ve achieved in meeting the needs of our veterans. I extend my appreciation to the dedicated staff who ensure our retired servicemembers receive the highest quality of care,” Stanley added.

The Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Home is a long-term care facility equipped to serve up to 200 veterans.
