Senator Standridge Applauds Appointment of Darrell Weaver as Cleveland County Sheriff

OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Lisa Standridge, R-Norman, today congratulated Senator Darrell Weaver, R-Moore, on his appointment as Cleveland County Sheriff.

“Darrell Weaver has decades of law enforcement experience and a deep commitment to public safety which has earned him the respect of his colleagues, law enforcement officers and citizens across Oklahoma," Senator Standridge said. “During our time serving together, Senator Weaver was a trusted voice on public safety issues and a tireless advocate for crime victims, first responders and safer communities. He brought a wealth of real-world experience to the Legislature and always approached his work with professionalism, humility and a servant's heart. While I will miss him in the Senate, I know he will continue making a positive impact in this new role.”

Weaver was elected to the Oklahoma Senate in 2018 and served Senate District 24, representing portions of Cleveland County. Throughout his legislative career, he championed measures to combat human trafficking, strengthen protections for victims of domestic violence, support first responders and improve public safety across Oklahoma.
