Sen. Casey Murdock was officially sworn into office Monday to represent Senate District 27. The Felt Republican was sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice Douglas Combs.
“I want to thank the citizens of northwest Oklahoma for entrusting me to continue my public service in the State Senate,” said Murdock. “I’m ready to bring my legislative experience to this hallowed body to continue working to protect our natural resources, strengthen our schools and grow our economy.”
In his second term in the House, Murdock will fill the two remaining years of the unexpired term of his predecessor Bryce Marlatt.
While in the House, he served as the Vice Chair of the Utilities Committee as well as on the Appropriations, Agriculture and Rural Development, A&B Transportation and the Transportation Committees.
Murdock is a rancher from northwest Oklahoma whole family settled the area before statehood. He farms and runs a cow-calf operation in Felt in southwestern Cimarron County. He has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Panhandle State University.
Senate District 27 covers nine counties in the panhandle and northwest Oklahoma – Cimarron, Texas, Beaver, Harper, Woodward, Woods, Major, Dewey and Ellis Counties.
