State Sen. Johnnie Crutchfield said he plans to be back on the floor of the Senate within a week or two. The Democrat from Ardmore is home recuperating after a blood clot traveled to a lung, causing respiratory difficulty. He’s continuing to receive medications to dissolve a second clot, and was not able to attend session this week. Crutchfield said the clots may be related to knee surgery he underwent about six years ago.
Crutchfield said while he is home recovering, he will be in constant contact with his Senate office, ensuring constituent needs continue to be addressed. His executive assistant, Marie Bigger, can be reached at 405-521-5607 at the State Capitol.
“I want to thank my fellow members of the Senate, our staff and other friends from around the state who’ve said prayers and wished me a speedy recovery,” Crutchfield said. “I’m truly grateful for their friendship and support, and look forward to being back at the Capitol as quickly as possible.”
