OKLAHOMA CITY- Senator Darcy Jech, R-Kingfisher, joined state and university leaders Tuesday to celebrate the launch of new facilities at OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
“It was a wonderful morning celebrating the future of veterinary education in our state with many of the very people who made this endeavor possible,” Jech said.
Jech, who serves as Chair of the Senate Rural Caucus, was among many distinguished guests at the event, including OSU President Dr. Jim Hess, Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur, Oklahoma A&M Regent Jimmy Harrel, Senate Appropriations Chair Chuck Hall, Speaker Kyle Hilbert, many state lawmakers, and notable OSU staff and students.
The construction of the new state-of-the-art facility was made possible through the Legislature’s $250 million appropriation in the 2025 legislative session.
“This investment will have a lasting impact across Oklahoma, but particularly in rural areas that rely on critical veterinary care. It’s also a major step toward restoring OSU Veterinary Medicine to its rightful place as the top veterinary school in the nation,” Jech said. “I look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on workforce development, educational and research opportunities, and our state as a whole.”
