OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Chuck Hall, R-Perry, recently invited a veteran Hennessey teacher who is retiring after more than 50 years of dedicated service in the classroom to be recognized before the Oklahoma State Senate.

At the request of Senator Hall, the Senate on Monday celebrated Hennessey Elementary School teacher Maribeth Boettler on her retirement after an exceptional career in public education across multiple school districts.

A fourth-generation educator and two-time Teacher of the Year, Boettler spent most of her career teaching second-grade students in Hennessey. She got her start in public education in Texas, where she taught for a few years before bringing her talents to Oklahoma.

“Maribeth represents the very best of public education in Oklahoma,” Senator Hall said. “For over 50 years, she poured her heart into her classroom, guiding and inspiring generations of young learners. Her commitment to her students and her community is nothing short of extraordinary. It was a privilege to celebrate her remarkable career, and I wish her all the best in retirement.”

Senator Hall presented Boettler with a formal citation to commemorate her years of service in the classroom.
