Senator Gollihare Honored by District Attorneys Association
OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Todd Gollihare, R-Kellyville, was recently honored by the Oklahoma District Attorneys Association with the 2026 Heavy Hitter award for his strong record of championing public safety and standing up for crime victims.
As chairman of the Senate Public Safety and Judiciary Committee Appropriations Subcommittee and vice chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Gollihare has worked closely with district attorneys to advance their priorities.
This past session, he advanced multiple reforms to enhance protections for victims of domestic violence, including landmark legislation that allows prosecutors to introduce evidence of previous acts of domestic violence in criminal cases where a defendant is charged with domestic violence or abuse.
Gollihare was also recognized for legislation he passed that strengthens protections for religious worship services in response to coordinated disruptions, gives district attorneys more authority to appeal adverse rulings and updates outdated legal provisions related to defendants taking clandestine pictures and videos.
“It is an honor to work alongside district attorneys from across Oklahoma to ensure our justice system operates fairly and effectively,” Gollihare said. “Victims and their families deserve a legal system that protects them and holds offenders accountable. I’ll keep doing my part at the Capitol to make sure the law is always on their side. I always appreciate working with our dedicated DAs on reforms that keep Oklahomans safe.”
As part of his work serving on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Gollihare co-authored budget bills that created a rural loan assistance program and offered financial incentives to improve recruitment and retention of prosecutors in underserved areas.
“Every county deserves to have the best and brightest prosecutors standing up for the people of Oklahoma,” Gollihare said. “These incentives will help rural justice systems attract talented attorneys to enforce our laws and put criminals behind bars.”
Gollihare is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer who received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa and previously served as the chief United States probation officer for the Northern District of Oklahoma.
