OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. David Bullard, R-Durant, today issued the following statement on the recent Oklahoma Supreme Court ruling regarding House Bill 1775. Bullard was the primary Senate author for the bill passed in 2021.
"I am proud of the Supreme Court for getting it right in HB 1775. We should never force our kids to be trained that more racism is the answer to racism. We must never allow our schools to become laboratories for liberal ideologies that push our kids into thinking they are racist because of their race. We must not allow them to push the big lies about systemic racism, CRT, implicit bias, intersectionality, or any other liberal fairytale. So many of our teachers want to put learning at a premium. They want nothing to do with these liberal distractions to good education. Student should never be required to go through indoctrination camps or as some call it, 'orientation.' Restoring our universities and public trust in them means we must first remove the push to make them centers for liberal indoctrination."
