OKLAHOMA CITY - Senate Education Committee Chairman Adam Pugh, R-Edmond, on behalf of the Senate Education Committee, hosted a Christmas celebration today at the Oklahoma State Capitol, welcoming students from across the state to perform music, sing Christmas carols and showcase holiday-themed performances in the fourth-floor rotunda.
Students from schools representing communities across Oklahoma participated in the event, which brought together families, educators, lawmakers and members of the public to celebrate the holiday season and highlight the talents of Oklahoma’s students.
Senator Pugh said the event was intended to recognize students and teachers while creating a festive atmosphere at the Capitol.
“It was a joy to welcome students from across Oklahoma to the State Capitol and watch them share their talents with everyone in attendance,” Senator Pugh said. “Events like this remind us of the importance of supporting arts and education while celebrating the spirit of the Christmas season. I’m grateful to the teachers, parents and students who made this day special.”
Participating schools included Burlington High School, D.D. Kirkland Elementary, Del City High School, Eisenhower High School, Enid High School, Frontier Elementary, Lexington High School, Cheyenne Middle School, Claremore High School, Deer Creek High School, Classen School of Advanced Studies and Elgin High School.
