OKLAHOMA CITY – State Sen. Allison Ikley-Freeman, D-Tulsa, remains in the hospital but is in stable condition. Senate Democratic Leader Kay Floyd, D-Oklahoma City, issued a statement Tuesday updating Ikley-Freeman’s condition—she was seriously injured Friday morning in a collision on the Turner Turnpike while traveling to the state Capitol for the legislative session.
“Senator Ikley-Freeman remains at the OU Medical Center where she was transported Friday and underwent surgery. She has since been transferred from the intensive care unit to the trauma unit. She is stable and alert.
“Visitation to the hospital is limited by COVID-19 restrictions but I have been able to speak to Allison by phone. While I want to continue to be mindful of federal privacy regulations, I can share that Senator Ikley-Freeman is very thankful for her excellent care and is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support she’s received from her colleagues, constituents, and people from throughout Oklahoma.”
