Sen. Warren Hamilton congratulates Karen Ford as new Latimer County Election Board Secretary

Karen Ford has been selected to become the new Latimer County Election Board Secretary.

As election board secretary, Ford will supervise voter registrations, voter outreach and maintain registration records. She’ll also designate polling places for elections, train election officials, provide information about election related activities and certify official election results for the county.

“I know Mrs. Karen Ford will do a fantastic job as the secretary of the Latimer County Election Board,” said Sen. Warren Hamilton, R-McCurtain. “This is a vital position ensuring the integrity of our elections and that every citizen has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote and perform their civic duty.”

Prior to serving as the Latimer County Election Board secretary, Ford served as a new account/vault teller at The Community State Bank in Wilburton. She also owned Wilburton Drug Testing for seven years and has previous experience as a human resources administrator, insurance agent and billing coordinator.

“I have every confidence that Karen will continue the outstanding work done by Mrs. Barbara Helmert during her decades of selfless service,” Hamilton said. “My sincerest congratulations go to Karen as she embarks on this new role.”
