OKLAHOMA CITY – As law enforcement continues their investigations following the death of a Midwest City student at Friday night’s game at Choctaw High School with Del City, and the injuries of others, Sen. Brenda Stanley, R-Midwest City, issued the following statement.
“Before being elected to the Senate, I was a life-long educator and administrator, and worked in both the Choctaw and Mid-Del school districts. My heart and prayers go out to all who have been so greatly affected by the events of last Friday. I want to express how grateful I am for the way administrators and others in both communities have worked to help those struggling after this terrible act of violence. I’ve been touched by accounts of how students and others stepped forward to help one another in the moments after – their responses speak more to the heart and soul of our communities than senseless acts of violence.
“I also want to thank our municipal and county law enforcement officers for their professionalism and compassion as they responded, and continue to hold them in prayer as well as they work to determine exactly what happened and ensure justice ultimately prevails.”
