OKLAHOMA CITY – State Sen. Rob Standridge, R-Norman, issued the following statement Thursday after Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter announced his support of a Texas lawsuit challenging the 2020 presidential election results for Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin in the U.S. Supreme Court.
“I would like to commend our courageous Attorney General Mike Hunter for standing up for the citizens of Oklahoma and the U.S. Constitution. This brief makes it clear that our citizens were harmed by the unconstitutional actions of a few states.
“All have noticed the extensive election irregularities during this presidential election but have become discouraged that our judicial system is not responding in the manner we would hope. Although it is great news that our attorney general took action to join this historic lawsuit from Texas, it is important that Oklahomans now redirect their attention to get more states to come on board. I would ask all to reach out to any family, friends, coworkers and anyone else you might know in other states, to encourage their attorneys general to join in the Texas lawsuit.
“Our U.S. Constitution is too important to allow a few states to totally ignore and allow it to be something less than what is has always been—the greatest governing document ever conceived by man. As patriots throughout this great state took to the phones and emails to encourage our state to join in the fight, I would respectfully request each and every one of you to turn your attention to other states around the country and inspire their citizens and leaders as you have inspired those in your own state.”
