Sen. Sharp Appoints Antosh to Pottawatomie County Excise Board

OKLAHOMA CITY - Sen. Ron Sharp, R-Shawnee, recently appointed Jim Antosh to the Pottawatomie County Excise-Equalization Board.  The position was previously held by Judge Glenn Dale Carter, who is retiring after having served more than 10 years as a board member.

"Mr. Antosh is highly qualified and his vast experience in business and finance made this decision very easy for me," said Sharp.  "Because the financial condition of Pottawatomie County relies on the Excise Board, it's important to fill these positions with individuals who are passionate about improving the economic health of the county and who are knowledgeable about fiscal matters.  Mr. Antosh has displayed all of these qualities throughout his 35 years of business in the county."

Antosh currently serves as the President of Round House Manufacturing, where he began working in 1978.  Round House Manufacturing is a Shawnee-based company that produces American-made work clothing.  It is the oldest manufacturing company in Oklahoma and the largest "Made in the U.S.A." jeans and overalls manufacturer.  In 2008, Antosh helped open a second Round House factory in Wewoka and recently expanded the Shawnee location, creating more jobs. Governor Mary Fallin awarded Round House with Exporter of the Year in 2011.

The Pottawatomie County Excise-Equalization Board functions as a check and balance system for spending and taxation.  Members are responsible for providing adequate and accurate reporting of finances and expenditures for all budget and supplemental purposes within the county.

"Mr. Antosh has already contributed significantly to job growth and economic development in Oklahoma.  He has demonstrated fiscal responsibility, and I'm extremely confident in his ability to oversee finances for Pottawatomie County,” said Sharp.

Antosh is one of three members of the Excise Board.  Each member serves a four-year term.
