OKLAHOMA CITY Sen. Rob Standridge, R-Norman, is slated to host a town hall meeting addressing domestic violence issues on Dec. 9. The town hall event will allow constituents a chance to hear from Sen. Standridge, learn more about his proposed legislation that will impact domestic violence in Oklahoma and give an opportunity for attendees to ask questions about the upcoming legislative session.
Domestic violence is an important issue affecting Oklahomans not only in Cleveland and Oklahoma counties, but also across the state, Standridge said, We are committed to addressing this problem, protecting victims of domestic violence and holding those who commit such crimes accountable to their actions. I hope many will join us to discuss this topic and what we can do to make Oklahoma a safer place to live.
Town hall attendees will also hear from Kristy Stewart, executive director of Normans Womens Resource Center and Candida Manion, executive director of the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse.
The town hall meeting will be held Dec. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Norman Public Library in the Redbud Room at 103 W. Acres Street, Norman, Okla.
