OKLAHOMA CITY – State Senator Adam Pugh, R-Edmond, today issued the following statement after the weekend terrorist attacks on Israel.
“The attacks over the weekend on Israel were horrific and should be universally condemned by leaders across the world. The horrors we continue to see play out are repulsive. These are pure acts of terror, violence and aggression, and the loss of innocent lives is deeply tragic. Having deep ties to the Jewish community myself and after being in communication with local Jewish leaders throughout the weekend and today, I want the members of the local Jewish community to know that I stand firm with them in their efforts at home and abroad. We must remain united behind our allies and not let these acts destabilize the promise of the Abraham Accords throughout the Middle East. My thoughts and prayers remain with our Israeli allies and their families and friends as we work through the ensuing humanitarian crisis.”
This past legislative session, Pugh authored Senate Resolution 17, which commemorated May 2023 as Jewish American Heritage Month. The resolution honored the contributions of the Jewish people to the United States of America and the state of Oklahoma.
Pugh was also previously recognized by the Jewish Federation for authoring Senate Bill 1671 that added Holocaust education to the state education curriculum.
