OKLAHOMA CITY – State Sen. Roland Pederson is commending the Senate’s unanimous approval of Enid community leader Brent Kisling as the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce on Tuesday afternoon.
“It was an honor to confirm Brent Kisling’s appointment this week,” said Pederson, R-Enid. “His robust experience with the Enid Regional Development Alliance, along with many years in various other leadership positions in Oklahoma will serve him well in his new role as state Commerce Director.”
Kisling will oversee the operations of the Department of Commerce and will report to Secretary of Commerce Sean Kouplen, who was also confirmed by the Senate this week. In addition to Kisling’s previous work with the ERDA, he also served as the state director for the USDA Rural Development in Oklahoma, as well as the chair of Leadership Oklahoma. He has also served on the Governor’s Economic Development Marketing Team, the Oklahoma Economic Development Council, the Career Tech Foundation Board, and the OSU Ag Alumni Board.
Kisling, nominated by Gov. Kevin Stitt earlier this year, will serve at the pleasure of the governor. He succeeds former director Deby Snodgrass. He currently lives in Enid with his wife and two children.
