Hoping to help Oklahoma motor carriers avoid a hefty fine, Sen. Mark Allen, R-Spiro, is reminding all carriers to ensure UCR registrations are current and up to date. This registration applies to the operations of passenger and property in interstate commerce, motor carrier, motor private carrier, freight forwarder, broker and leasing companies.
January 1 was the deadline to pay annual registration costs and there is no grace period before a $300 fine can be enforced. Carriers can still register and pay for their 2015 UCR anytime quickly online at www.ucr.in.gov using a computer or even a smartphone. There is no paperwork involved, it only takes a few minutes through the UCR website, and is immediately verifiable by enforcement if stopped along the road.
“It’s easier and simpler than ever to take care of registration,” said Sen. Allen. “In just a few minutes using a smartphone, carriers can avoid a substantial fine and rest assured they’re ready for another new year.”
