Sen. Leewright, Rep. Hilbert mourn passing of Creek County Commissioner Lane Whitehouse

State Sen. James Leewright, R-Bristow, and Rep. Kyle Hilbert, R-Bristow, expressed their condolences after the sudden passing of Creek County Commissioner Lane Whitehouse.  Whitehouse had worked for the county for 24 years, including 16 years as a supervisor and six as county commissioner for Creek County.

Leewright remembered Whitehouse as a public servant of tremendous integrity, dedication, and as a long-time friend and family man who loved serving Creek County as Commissioner of District 3.

“He’s been such an important figure for Bristow and Creek County, and my family really considers Lane and his family part of ours,” Leewright said.  “My prayers go out to Lane’s wife, Robin and daughter Macey, who Cari and I consider as a fifth child, his parents Wilbert and Sharon, as well as Jared and Ashely their children, Bryson and Jolee, Whitney and Dustin, and kids Decily, Dazzly and Deagan, and Krysten and her children, Aiden and Addy.”

Hilbert said he was deeply saddened by the news of Whitehouse’s passing.

“This is a huge loss for our county and our community.  Lane is someone I could always count on for advice and a helping hand when needed. I’m praying for his loved ones and looking forward to the day we will see each other again.
