OKLAHOMA CITY- Senator Kristen Thompson, R-Edmond, released the following statement after the Senate adopted SR 1XXXX Monday. The resolution condemns political violence and recognizes the victims who were killed and injured when a shooting occurred at President Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania Saturday.
“I'm deeply troubled by the horrendous incident at President Trump’s rally on Saturday. This kind of political violence is a serious threat to our democracy and must be condemned without question. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with the President and his family, as well as the family of Corey Comperatore, an innocent American who lost his life, and the many others injured by this senseless act. I’m proud to have supported this resolution condemning political violence, and stand firmly against all threats to our democracy.”
