Sen. Guthrie Introduces Concurrent Resolution Affirming Legislative Intent to Reduce Income Tax

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Brian Guthrie, R-Bixby, introduced Senate Concurrent Resolution 11 this week, expressing the intent of the Oklahoma Legislature to enact a 0.25% reduction to the individual income tax rate.

SCR11 highlights the strong financial position of the State of Oklahoma, citing that the State of Oklahoma currently maintains over $5 billion in reserve savings, with the majority of those funds readily available.

“Oklahoma taxpayers are the best stewards of their hard-earned dollars,” Guthrie said. “By eliminating state waste and limiting the growth of government, we can further bolster our state’s financial standing and leave additional room in the state budget to extend a tax cut to Oklahomans. I proudly stand with my legislative colleagues, Governor Stitt, Oklahoma taxpayers, and countless other stakeholders in passing an income tax cut this session.”

16 Senators have joined Guthrie in authoring SCR11, in addition to several House members. Rep. Mark Lepak, R-Claremore, is the House author of the concurrent resolution.
