WELLSTON – Senator Grant Green, R-Wellston, today issued the following statement and expressed his deepest condolences to the families affected by the devastating wildfires that have swept through the state, claiming at least one life.
“The devastation in our state is unimaginable, and I grieve and pray alongside those who are suffering, especially with the family who lost their loved one,” Sen. Green said. “These fires have tragically destroyed homes, displaced families, lives and have left a lasting impact on us all. In the face of this hardship, I have been humbled by the resilience of Oklahomans and the unwavering dedication of our first responders, firefighters and emergency personnel who have worked around the clock to ensure the safety of others.
“The volunteers, relief organizations and neighbors who have stepped up in the wake of disaster is nothing short of encouraging. Their generosity and selflessness embody the Oklahoma Standard. From providing shelter and supplies to helping with evacuations and recovery efforts, Oklahomans have come together in an extraordinary way. We will continue working with state and local officials to ensure resources are available for those in need.
“I urge residents to remain vigilant and follow emergency guidance as we move forward. My office remains in contact with emergency management officials and will help connect anyone with the resources they need in this tragic aftermath.”
