OKLAHOMA CITY – State Sen. Regina Goodwin issued the following comments after walking through areas with Mayor Monroe Nichols in Senate District 11 in north Tulsa that were impacted by Friday night’s storm.
“While I am very grateful we’ve had no reports of fatalities in my own district, we know there were deaths in other areas of the state, and our prayers are with those communities and families.
“I was saddened by the extensive damage I’ve seen in some parts of north Tulsa, and I know those impacted are going to be dealing with this for a while. I’ve seen damage at multiple buildings, including Jack’s Memorial Chapel, the 36th Street North Event Center, the Tulsa Tech Peoria Campus, and I understand the Greenwood Leadership Academy has damage, with houses impacted on Lansing in particular.
“I appreciate Governor Stitt for declaring a State of Emergency, and want to urge anyone who had damage to their home or business to report it at damage.ok.gov. I’ll continue to be here in the district, offering any assistance I can. I especially want to thank Pastor Tim Newton and his wife with the Tulsa Dream Center – they’ve been rounding up volunteers to help with the clean-up.
“If you weren’t affected by the storm and would like to help, or if you need help, you can call the Red Cross at 918-831-1100, or contact my office at 405-521-5598.”– Sen. Regina Goodwin, D-Tulsa.
