OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. George Burns, R-Pollard, commended the Senate Economic Development, Workforce and Tourism Committee for voting today to confirm the nomination of Jerrod Lundry of Haworth to serve on the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission.
Burns carried Lundry’s nomination, pointing to his proven leadership as Superintendent of Haworth Public Schools. In his role, Lundry leads all aspects of district operations including financial management, strategic planning, and community engagement.
Lundry formerly served as Campus Director for Kiamichi Technology Center and Director of Full-Time Programs at Autry Technology Center, where he managed multi-million-dollar budgets and partnered with business and industry to support regional economic growth. He has also served on the McCurtain County Fair Board, where he stewarded county tourism tax revenues to support community events, agriculture, and local development.
“Jerrod Lundry brings a wealth of experience that will make him an incredible asset to the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission,” Burns said. “Southeastern Oklahoma communities like Broken Bow, Hochatown, and other surrounding communities have experienced exponential tourism growth in recent years. Having someone who lives and works in the community each day sitting on this commission will bring an invaluable, on-the-ground perspective to help guide fiscally responsible and strategic tourism development in our region and across the state.”
Following confirmation by the full Senate, Lundry will serve an unexpired term at the pleasure of the Governor, ending July 1, 2028.
